The Community Campership Council, Inc., a 501(c) (3) tax exempt charitable organization, was established in 1966 to coordinate a year-round “Kids to Camp” Campership Program. The Goal of our Kids to Camp Program is to make available a joyful learning experience in a natural setting for deserving children from diverse backgrounds; to expand their understanding of nature, of themselves and others, of the environment and the importance of conservation; to foster wonder, give hope and build confidence.
There is a new world of forests and meadows, streams, crafts, fun outdoor activities, but Camp also provides life learning experiences, stepping stones on which to grow. A child gains self-confidence from mastering new skills and making new friendships. The effects can be incredible.
Many of our campers come from families at or below the poverty line and all qualify for the free or reduced lunch program at school or have special needs. It is hard to describe what it means to a child to experience the wonders of camp. If you wish to help, please consider adopting a camper with a donation.
